Sergey Mironov on Settlement in Ukraine: The Ball Is in Trump’s Court

A quick end to the conflict in Ukraine depends on US President Donald Trump and his willingness to stop supporting the Kiev regime, said Sergey Mironov, leader of "A Just Russia - Patriots - For Truth". "There is no point in agitating Russia for peace, let alone blackmailing it; Russia is already fighting for peace. Now Trump has to make his choice," the politician asserted.
"Trump criticizes Zelensky for fighting against a bigger country and a much more powerful army. But even the United States, which is effectively waging war against Russia in Ukraine, risks provoking a global conflict with a nuclear power. Biden, whom Trump loves to criticize, spoke directly about these risks," Sergey Mironov recalled. "Well, let Trump be consistent and not repeat his predecessor’s mistakes. Or better yet, let him put Biden on trial for inciting and sponsoring the war and the war crimes of the Ukronazis!"

The US president is trying to appear above the fray, but the choice he urges Russia and Ukraine to make is ultimately his own, the Russian MP added.

"The puppet Zelensky and his junta will cling to the war’s continuation at all costs - for them, it is an endless source of income and survival. European officials, choking on Russophobia, are ready to pay for this even at the price of Europe’s decline, which we are already witnessing. But without US support, all these efforts would have been impossible, just as it is impossible to continue them without the aid of the United States and its NATO satellites," Sergey Mironov noted.

"We cannot allow the two most powerful nations to wage war against each other. We must eliminate the terrorist neo-Nazi regime in Ukraine. We are working on it. And Trump, if he truly wants peace, should choose the right side in this conflict. The ball is in his court," he concluded.
