4th CSI IT Excellence Awards and Panel Discussion concludes
Ghaziabad: The Computer Society of India (CSI), celebrated its 20th anniversary in grand style with the 4th CSI IT Excellence Awards and a thought-provoking panel discussion held at Lemon Tree Hotel. The event recognized top achievers in IT and education for their contributions to innovation and excellence.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest, Shri Golok Kumar Simli, Principal Advisor and Chief Technology Officer, Passport Seva Program, Ministry of External Affairs, highlighted the importance of efficient, transparent, and secure citizen centric services closer to their doorsteps. He emphasised that technology is helping us to bridge the barriers be it demographic, geographical, linguistic, educational or economic conditions.

Shri Golok also briefed about the transformation achieved in delivery of Passport Services to the citizens even in remotest part of the country be it Leh, Port Blair or Lakshadweep. He opined that the 5 most powerful digital technologies that will shape the world are AI & Machine Learning, Cloud Computing & Edge Computing, 5G & Beyond, Data Security & Privacy, IOT & Distributed Technology.
Mr. Saurabh Agrawal, CSI Patron and Jury Chair of the IT Excellence Awards, explained the vision behind the awards. He emphasized the need to recognize high achievers in IT, research, education, and startups to foster quality-driven, impactful work in these areas.
This year, the award categories were expanded to cover a broader spectrum of achievements. He mentioned that jury was happy with the number of entries and enthusiasm towards the IT Excellence Awards.
Prof. Parma Nand, CSI Chapter Chairman, reflected on CSI’s role over the past two decades as a bridge between industry and academia. He encouraged more IT professionals and educational institutions to join the CSI movement, creating mutual growth opportunities.
On this occasion, all the past chairmen of CSI were honored with a momento and shawl in appreciation of their contribution to CSI and for their mentorship.
A newsletter was also released on the occasion. Event was graced by Prof R K Singh, Registrar of IGDTUW and Dr Pramod Kumar, Vice President at Tech Mahindra as guests of honour.
A panel discussion on "Bridging the Skill Gap – Aligning Academic Curricula with Industry Needs" featured prominent panelists, including Mr. Girish Mudgal, Business HR Head at TCS; Dr. V.K. Arora, CEO of Anveshan Foundation; and Mr. Ankur Bansal, MD of GCC, Flight Centre Travel
