Govt of INDIA Sanctions Extension of AQUA LINE METRO Corridor from Botanical Garden to NOIDA Sector 142 Project to be Completed in 4 Years
NOIDA: The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is pleased to announce that the Government of India has sanctioned the extension of the Aqua Line Metro Corridor from Botanical Garden to Noida Sector-142 (11.56 km). The project follows the earlier approval of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, reaffirming the commitment of both the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh toward strengthening urban mobility and infrastructure in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The 11.56 km elevated corridor will comprise eight stations and is estimated to cost 2,254.35 crore.
The project is targeted for completion within 04 years from the date of sanction.
Proposed Stations (Botanical Garden to Noida Sector-142):
1. Botanical Garden 2. Noida Sector-44 3. Noida Office
4. Noida Sector-97 5. Noida Sector-105 6. Noida Sector-108
7. Noida Sector-93 8. Panchsheel Balak Inter College
The extension will provide seamless interchange connectivity at Botanical Garden with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) network, enabling direct access to the Blue Line and Magenta Line. This will significantly enhance connectivity for commuters travelling between Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi, including improved access to IGI Airport, major railway stations, and the upcoming Multi-Modal Transport Hub at Boraki.
The corridor will serve a well-developed and economically vibrant catchment area comprising IT/ITES hubs, institutional establishments, and residential sectors along the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. Upon completion, the extension will integrate with the existing 29.707 km Aqua Line corridor (Noida Sector-51 to Depot Station), the recently sanctioned 2.60 km extension from Depot Station to Boraki MMTH, and the 17.761 km metro network operated by DMRC in Noida. This will expand the total operational metro network in Noida and Greater Noida to approximately 61.62 km.
This landmark development is expected to ease commuting between Noida and Greater Noida, encourage greater adoption of public transport, reduce traffic congestion, and support sustainable and environment-friendly urban growth. It represents a significant step forward in regional transportation planning and reflects the shared vision of the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh to build efficient, accessible, and future-ready cities.
