PGICH NOIDA STARTS MOLECULAR RTPCR CMV DNA TESTING FOR PATIENTS
Department of Microbiology PGICH Noida, has started Molecular RTPCR CMV DNA testing for patients from June 7th 2023. Head of Department Microbiology PGICH Noida-Professor (Dr.) Sumi Nandwani told that this molecular RTPCR testing is to detect CMV, i.e CytoMegaloVirus infection which is common in people with weakened immune system like patients with Cancer, organ transplantation, in females with recurrent abortions or stillbirths and in new-born children with genetic defects.

She mentioned that this facility was not available previously in our institute or other Government Institute in District GB Nagar and other nearby Districts of U.P. Now with availability of this test in PGICH, patients will be highly benefitted.
She expressed gratitude towards Director, PGICH Noida, Professor (Dr.) Arun Kumar Singh and Hospital administration for support and Department of Medical Education U.P. Government for support provided for purchase of Equipments for molecular (RTPCR) testing during Covid-19 pandemic.
Director Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar Singh said that now in house availability of this test in Government Institute like ours would be affordable and highly beneficial for patients. He also thanked U.P. Government for their support.
